Mount Ophir
Mount Ophir, also known as Gunung Ledang, is another unique Muar attraction among locals and tourists. According to the Malay legend, there was a fairy princess residing at this mountain and the fairy was set to marry Sultan Mahmud Shah.
Ledang is actually has only the 134th highest peak and the difficulty of it not ranking in the top 20. Still, it is the highest mountain in Johor and the location is just a few hours’ drive from both Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, means it is one of Malaysia’s most popular and frequently climbed peaks.
About 20 minutes’ walk from the entrance, you’ll reach the Rocky Mountains, which are full of boulders and big rocks. This scene adds to the beauty and also tells you that you are very close to the elegant waterfall – Puteri Waterfall. Go up and you will see the second waterfall, which is more spectacular and wider than the first one. It also has a bigger swimming pool.
